I've been surprised at how close the overall popular vote seems to be - 50% Obama, 49% McCain. The BBC commentators seem to think it's going to be Obama but I'm not going to be happy until that number is well over 270. I might have to go to bed before that happens though - it's 02.44 here.
As it stands now, Mathematically, John McCain would have to flip states where Obama led +10 pts. And don't forget, California is pretty much guaranteed California, which is 55 pts. on itself. Which means he needs Cali and Washington, and he's won officially!!
I trust Nate Silver form www.fivethirtyeight.com and he's called it. :D And he's got all of the states right so far. :D
As close as it is, I'm not believing this until they say 100% polls reporting. When I click on the states, right now, it's like 20%. They're calling Maine for Obama and only 8% of polls have reported?
I'm dreading that the news is wrong. I really want Obama to win and this is just frustrating to me. Patience is not my thing...
